Privacy Policy

Account Information: Email address, name, username, date of birth, gender, and profile photo.

Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's location to show nearby events and enable location-based features. We do not track your location in the background. When you use the event feed, your most recent location is stored on our servers so we can notify you about new events created near you. This stored location is considered stale after 7 days and is no longer used for notifications.

User Content: Photos, videos, messages, event descriptions, and other content you post on the App.

Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including events viewed, events joined, and feature usage.

Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility.

We use your information to provide and operate the App, authenticate your account via OTP verification, show you relevant events in your area, send you push notifications about new events near your location (if enabled), enable communication between event participants, enforce gender-based event access restrictions set by you or event hosts, moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service, send you important account notifications such as OTP codes, improve and develop new features, and ensure safety and security of our platform.

We do not sell your personal information.

Other Users: Your profile information, including name, username, and photo, is visible to other Nayaab users. Event participants can see who else has joined an event.

Service Providers: We use third-party services to operate the App, including AWS S3 for photos and media, email delivery services for OTP verification, and Google Maps for location features.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Nayaab, our users, or the public.

Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Location data used for nearby event notifications is automatically considered stale after 7 days and is no longer used for notification targeting. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted immediately. We do not retain your data after account deletion, except where required by law to comply with a legal obligation or resolve disputes. For details on what is removed, see our account deletion page.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and personal data, withdraw consent for location data collection through device settings, and request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Nayaab is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account.

We use JSON Web Tokens (JWT) stored securely on your device to maintain your authenticated session. These tokens are essential for the App to function and cannot be disabled. No tracking cookies are used.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
